Today's journey shows a few photos from US Route 40, also known as the National Historic Road. We are going through Richmond, Indiana on this route. It pretty much runs parallet to boring I-70.

Colorful houses and American barns

Colorful houses in Boomer, West Virginia traveling on Midland Trail, US Route 60 west.

This is a Dutch style barn. This barn above and the one below are also on US 35 along the Kanawha River flood plain.




This style of barn is known as the gable.

Abandoned motel...Dublin, Indiana


We are fascinated with some old buildings....one being old-fashioned motels. This abandoned one was found in Dublin, Indiana. We were traveling west on US Route 40 instead of taking Interstate 70 which runs parallel pretty much to route 40.
